I Will Remember You: A Global 9/11 Call to Prayer
A Sacred Memorial Concert for the Fallen Twin Towers

In remembrance of the lives lost on September 11th, this special memorial performance serves as a transnational call to prayer—weaving together sacred vocal traditions from six distinct cultures to foster a message of universal peace, remembrance, and healing.
Built upon an Ancient Greek pentatonic scale composed by Nana Simopoulos, the piece provides a shared, primordial musical ground where disparate traditions unite. During the performance, vocalists from each country sing the phrase “I will remember you” in their native languages, eventually joining their voices together as one global choir.
This composition unites the linguistic and spiritual heritage of Greece with a Byzantine choir, Turkey, Israel, Tibet, India with an Indian choir and Africa.
Transcending tragedy, these six languages rise in unison over a single ancient scale, transforming raw grief into a collective sanctuary of sound and proving that music can bridge continents to heal deep wounds.

The piece features adapted lyrics from the profound poem “The Pathway finally opened” by the revered Sufi Mahatma Ghandevi. Through its soaring vocal lines and evocative instrumentation, the performance guides the audience on an inner journey, capturing the universal human quest for spiritual awakening, openness, and divine connection.
